Tottenham beat Watford 4-0 at White Hart Lane on Saturday, April 8. Here are all the highlights from the match.
Tottenham dominated Watford at White Hart Lane on Saturday, running out 4-0 winners thanks to a goal each from Dele Alli and Eric Dier, and two from Heung-min Son.
The Hornets were arguably the better side in the opening exchanges, defending well and breaking with speed and in numbers. Their best chance came from a set piece, when a fourth-minute Jose Holebas free-kick was saved by Hugo Lloris.
Spurs began to take control around the 15-minute mark, however, and should have taken the lead in the 19th minute, when Vincent Janssen somehow missed from a yard out after a Kieran Trippier cross.
Tottenham finally broke through in the 33rd minute thanks to an exquisite Alli finish. The Englishman cut in on his right foot before curling in beautifully past Heurelho Gomes.
Dier doubled Spurs’ lead shortly after, before Son completed an impressive first half for Mauricio Pochettino’s side with another excellent goal, finishing into the bottom left corner from 25 yards.
Son started the second half with a goal, too, this time volleying in at the back post after a cross from Trippier, who was excellent all game and caused serious problems down Watford’s left side.
To top things off for Spurs, Harry Kane returned from injury well ahead of schedule, coming on as a second half substitute.
